A reference of measure, form, memory, and Italian continuity. The layer where culture remains preserved at its origin.
Context
Sigillo Italiano arises from the meeting of these two layers: a culture preserved at its origin and a culture reinterpreted in displacement. It is from this friction — between memory and translation, between permanence and movement — that the editorial criterion is born.
The curation does not seek to reconcile the two layers. It seeks to keep open the space between them, where true Italianness distinguishes itself from staged Italianness.
Method
The curation works through slow attention, contextual research, and refusal of excess. Rather than accumulating examples, it seeks to formulate a few recognitions with clarity, substance, and permanence.
Each case studied goes through an extended period of observation. No decision is made before the research reaches sufficient density to sustain an archival entry.
